Team Survivor Newsletter July 2020

Happy July! Another month has passed and world continues to change. We are challenged by the pandemic and racial injustice and remain unsure about what the future holds for many aspects of our lives. The most important work we all can do is to keep those we love safe and well as we look to contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion. Also, we can still make a significant impact in the blood cancer community – Team Survivor will continue to ride and raise money for the cause! Thanks for signing up with Team Survivor to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

100 Friends in 100 Hours $11,034

Over what would have been the Lake Tahoe weekend, several teammates participated in Team Survivor’s ‘100 Friends in 100 Hours’ fundraiser. All done through Facebook, we asked that 100 of our contacts donate over a period of 100 hours during the weekend. We crushed all expectations and received 205 donations worth $11,034 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Four teammates raised over $1000 over the weekend and Laurie was right behind with $920! Thanks to everyone for playing along and congratulations on the great fundraising!

DOG HAUS

JERSEY PARTY & FUNDRAISER

It was an awesome night at the Dog Haus as we handed out the new team kits for the season and got to catch up and have dinner. In our new world eating as a group inside is challenging, but we made due, had a great time in the parking lot and made a little money for the cause! Thanks to everyone who joined us!

FUNDRAISING

Thanks to the great efforts during the ‘100 Friends in 100 Hours’ Fundraiser, our donations grew significantly in June despite having more teammates leave the team. Thanks to each of you for continuing the fight to save lives in the midst of some very challenging times. One thing we learned from the fundraiser is that people are still willing to give to this great cause. As you can imagine, numbers at LLS are down dramatically so it’s not time to stop fundraising if we are going to continue to fund research for life saving treatments and cures. As of July 1st, we have raised $68,144! Even in the middle of this crazy year, we can still reach $100,000 but will need everyone to go above and beyond! Don’t settle for the minimum, and if you’ve hit the minimum, keep going!

  • Rance McDougald -$11,162
  • John Reumann – $9,259
  • Mary Salsich – $7,710
  • Randy Hunt – $6,437
  • Alicia Smith – $4,403
  • Meli Reumann – $4,087
