Team Survivor Newsletter November 2019

Only 7 months until the purple argyle of Team Survivor arrives in Lake Tahoe for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride. It’s time for Thanksgiving and so many things for us to be thankful for – family, friends, health, laughter, charity. I am thankful for everyone on the team who is raising money to cure cancer! Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with peace, love, and great joy. Thanks for signing up with Team Survivor to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

ABR – ALWAYS BE RECRUITING – Believe it or not, the Team Survivor Kickoff is just a few months away on January 16th (details below in Upcoming Events)! We now have 30 riders registered and are ready to roll!! But, we still need more teammates! Riding is more fun when your friends ride along – do you have any friends that enjoy riding and raising money for a great cause? Share this info to get registered or have them get in touch with me if they need more information! Let’s get 40 riders on the team and hit $100,000 for the 3rd consecutive year! Remember that in addition to the 100 mile ride, there are options for 30 and 70 miles. The most important thing is how much you raise, not how far you ride! Here is the registration information for you to share: https://registration.teamintraining.org/event-zip-search/80210/event-selected/143137 – select America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and join Team Survivor.

Train 2 Cure

Triple Bypass

TRAIN 2 CURE – we have some teammates who are unable to join the team in Lake Tahoe in 2020. Luckily, there is a TNT program called Train 2 Cure that allows teammates to fundraise and train with the team but participate in another event. Although we want to take as many teammates as possible to Lake Tahoe, the most important aspect of our TNT participation is raising money to beat cancer. So, keep this option in mind if you have scheduling conflicts with Lake Tahoe but still want to be a part of Team Survivor! Welcome to Mary Carey and Jess Gerdes! Both have registered and will be training and fundraising with the team and riding in the Triple Bypass on July 11th as their event. They will be joined by several other members of Team Survivor who are also going to ride 120 miles and climb 10,000 feet on July 11, 2020. Welcome ladies – so glad to have you onboard! And for any of your friends who want to join Team Survivor but are unable to travel to Lake Tahoe, please tell them about this program that gets us closer to our goal of raising $100,000 while having other ride options! By the way, it can be any biking event, not just the Triple Bypass.

NEW ROCKY MOUNTAIN TNT STAFF – Please join me in welcoming two awesome new Team in Training leaders! Laura Kodack is our new Senior Campaign Manager and Tristan Keller is the Director of Campaign Excellence. They are both amazing people who are committed to the cause and to Team Survivor’s success. I look forward to working with them both! Laura is in the process of moving here from New York and will be our local resource. Tristan is based in Fresno, CA.

Sleeveless Randy Hunt – $3000

John Reumann – $2750

Mary Salsich – $1850

FUNDRAISING – with 7 months to go, we continue to make progress toward our goal of raising $100,000 in donations and funding a blood cancer research portfolio. As of today, we have raised $12,217. Great job everyone! And, if you haven’t yet, it’s time to get your fundraising started – it’s much easier when you start early! If you need some help developing your plan, please reach out to Laura Kodack. Here is her contact info:
