Team Survivor Newsletter January 2021

Well, 2020 wasn’t the year we were expecting or the year we wanted. Many had challenges with sickness, death, mental health, racial tension, missing family and friends, safety, pandemic fatigue, election drama and so much uncertainty. And although it was a tough year there were many positives and happy moments too. I am so grateful for Team Survivor and for those who joined the team on the bike every Saturday morning. My entire social life centered around our Saturday rides so I appreciate all of you. As the sun sets on this year, I hope that 2021 keeps us all in good health, brings each of us joy and gives us the opportunity to spend time together in person again. And now we look forward to another year of riding and raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thanks for signing up with Team Survivor to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

GET THE KIT

Jeff Goldblum says ‘Get the Kit.’ This kit is the dress code for all events in 2021 so get the kit and ride in style! We’ve got a cool, sunny new design and an upgrade on the shorts! The team store will close on January 30th so you have just 30 days left to place your order. Come, join us in the sun! https://team-survivor.com/shop/

Roster, Fundraising & Recruiting

Like many companies, LLS experienced many changes in 2020. Those of us who signed up for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride saw the event postponed and then eventually cancelled. Some members registered for other events, some dropped and some transferred to the 2021 AMMBR event. In the middle of the chaos, LLS went through a major restructure so we are still working on the current team roster and the fundraising dollars that transferred to Team Survivor 2021. We expect to have it all sorted by next month so we will know who is on the team, how much we have raised and a path for new riders to join. As the year begins we will focus on recruiting new teammates and raising $100,000 again in 2021!

One of the options for Train 2 Cure riders is the Triple Bypass. The ride has moved to August 21st and registration opens on January 6th. Here is the link to register – https://www.triplebypass.org/registration. If you registered in 2020 you have until January 5th to defer your registration to 2021. It’s an awesome ride and a great challenge. When you sign up, register with Team Survivor! Thomas and I are already registered – come join us!
