Team Survivor Newsletter January 2020

On the road to success, the rule is always to look ahead. May you reach your destination and may your journey be wonderful. Happy New Year Team Survivor! In five short months, our team will be riding our bikes around beautiful Lake Tahoe. With your help, by the time we get there we will have raised enough donations to fund another blood cancer research portfolio. Thanks for signing up with Team Survivor to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

TEAM SURVIVOR KICKOFF 2020

It’s time to celebrate our amazing accomplishments of 2019 and kick off our efforts for 2020! During our Kickoff we’ll recap 2019, review fundraising goals for 2020, see an exciting tour of Terumo (an LLS partner), and provide dinner. Also, we are excited to have Ryan Hatcher, Vice President of TNT, as our guest speaker. Due to space limitations, our Kickoff is only for registered members of Team Survivor, but I would also encourage you to bring any guests that are potential Team Survivor riders for 2020. Also, since this is a secure location we are unable to include children. Please RVSP yes or no (not maybe!) for you and any future rider guests so we can plan dinner accordingly – http://evite.me/6ZJwvGG5MS – I have been asked to submit a list of attendees to Terumo the week of Kickoff so it’s important that you RSVP so I can add you to the list. Can’t wait to see you there!

ALWAYS BE RECRUITING

I need your help to reach our goal of 50 riders! As of January 1st we have 36 registered riders so we have some work to do. Think about alumni, people who ride, or friends and family that would be good candidates to join our team. The more riders we have, the more fun the season will be and the more money we will raise to cure cancer! Here is the registration information for you to share: https://registration.teamintraining.org/event-zip-search/80210/event-selected/143137 – select America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and join Team Survivor.

NEW MEMBERS

As we get closer to 50 riders, here are the teammates that registered during December! Welcome to Melissa, James, Amber, and Stephon!

Happy New Year!  2020 is a time for new beginnings and focusing on your goals. For the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, our 2020 vision is focusing on a cure, because we are not curing cancer someday, but today. With your help and dedication, those cures are becoming a reality and 2020 is the year to reach so many more.  I encourage and challenge you to also make focusing on a cure your 2020 goal, because curing cancer is a team sport. By being a part of Team Survivor and reaching your fundraising goal, you are making these cures happen. Science is the engine that drives cures. Fundraising drives science.
Write down your fundraising goal, tell your network your goals, and John and I are here to help you reach them!
Have a wonderful and safe New Year!
