Team Survivor Newsletter September 2019

Julie Andrews? Are the hills alive with the sound of music? They are when Team Survivor comes to play! Welcome to September – we are now four months from the Team Survivor Kickoff, five months from TNT training, and it is just 9 months until the purple argyle descends upon Lake Tahoe! Wishing you all a fabulous Labor Day weekend! Thanks for signing up with Team Survivor to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

ABR (Always Be Recruiting) – With 4 months until our Kickoff on January 16th, we have 28 teammates registered for Lake Tahoe. Our goal is 40 riders and $100,000 in fundraising. Ask friends and family in your circle to join us for this great cause! Here is the registration information for you to share: https://registration.teamintraining.org/event-zip-search/80210/event-selected/143137 – select America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and join Team Survivor. Colin Powers, get in touch with me and I’ll get you a promo code for free registration!

FUNDRAISING – It’s early days, but it is never too early to start fundraising. What is your fundraising plan for the year? Do you have events scheduled? Do you have matching funds in place? Are you going to be happy raising the minimum (of course you aren’t, lives depend on this!)? We have found that our most successful fundraising years have been those where we start early and have a plan to succeed! Here’s your September challenge: Start a Facebook fundraiser – did you know you can tie a Facebook fundraiser directly to your TNT fundraising site? Here’s how! https://fundraise.lls.org/facebook/fundraiser If you aren’t a Facebook fan, the challenge is to send your first letter or email to potential donors. To date, we have raised $6,242. Only $93,758 to go to fund a life saving blood cancer research portfolio!
