Always

Be

Recruiting

ABR (Always Be Recruiting) – We have almost 30 registered riders for 2020 working toward our goal of 40 teammates and $100,000 in fundraising. Do you have a friend or family member that you could recruit for the ride? Have you asked them to join us? Congrats to Meli who was recruiting while riding Tour of the Moon – it’s amazing how many people notice our jerseys and ask about Team Survivor – by the time the ride was over our new potential recruit had met 10 teammates and took my contact info. Also, great to talk to you Marlon Fansler – come join us! If we’re going to hit $100,000, we need more teammates! Here is the registration information for you to share: https://registration.teamintraining.org/event-zip-search/80210/event-selected/143137 – select America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and join Team Survivor.

FUNDRAISING – Congratulations to all the teammates who have begun to fundraise! I’m happy to report that with 8 months to go, and with just a few people fundraising, we are over 10% of our goal! To date, we have raised $10,177! Only $89,823 left to fund a life saving blood cancer research portfolio! Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events below and join your team for these fundraisers!

TOUR OF THE MOON – Between 1980 and 1988, the Colorado National Monument was the location of the Tour of the Moon, one of the most famous stages of the Coors Classic, the largest men’s and women’s pro-am race in the world at the time. The Coors Classic was also the inspiration for American Flyers, the best cycling movie ever, that was filmed in Golden and at the National Monument. For the past seven years, it has become a ride we can all enjoy! It is one of my favorite rides of the year and it was awesome to have such a fantastic Team Survivor turnout in 2019! We continued our tradition of going to Dick and Kathleen Simms house in Fruita for dinner on Friday before the ride. They were Gary’s best friends and this year Ellen Staton joined us too.

Enjoy the ride!
