Team Survivor Newsletter July 2019

Hard to believe that it’s been nearly a month since the mighty argyle of Team Survivor descended on Lake Tahoe. It was a wonderful weekend, starting with the warm welcome from Kyle at In N Out Burger, to the ride up to Emerald Bay, the TNT Dinner & Rally, and of course that magnificent ride around Lake Tahoe. Team Survivor was part of 862 TNT riders that raised an astonishing $3.8 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our contribution to that total is $165,000 – Team Survivor’s highest total ever! Now we turn our sights to 2020 – just 11 months until our next lap around the lake! Thank you so much for your efforts over the past year to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

SAVE THE DATE – please mark your calendars for a few important dates coming up later this year. Seriously, take a minute now to add these to your calendar so you don’t miss any of these team activities!

Thursday, August 29th – the annual Team Survivor Fantasy Football Draft Party at Rock Bottom Brewery in Centennial. Whether you are participating in the draft, or just stopping by for dinner and a drink, please join us! Let me know if you are interested in being one of our 12 team owners this season. Registration for owners is $100 and due prior to draft night.

Friday, October 18thLord of the Rings – Fellowship of the Rings Watch Party. Lord of the Rings is our theme for next year so it’s time to get up to speed on this great story! I’m working to host this at Primal and will be adding a fundraising component.

  • Thursday, January 16, 2020 – Team Survivor Kickoff – we’ll get you ready for the season and give you an opportunity to spend time with your teammates before training begins in February. We’re working on an exciting lab tour for registered teammates. Many more details to follow, but please mark your calendars now and plan to join us!
  • Thursday, May 28, 2020 – Team Survivor Send Off – one final celebration of our season of fundraising and training before we head to Lake Tahoe! Working to host this with Primal again next year (although the photo booth may not be an option in 2020).
  • REGISTRATION – Lake Tahoe is 11 months away, but it is time to start registering alumni and recruiting new Team Survivor members. As of today, we have 23 teammates registered so we have some work to do. As always, our goal is to have 50 riders to make sure we can hit our $100,000 fundraising goal! What cycling family or friends can you bring along for the ride? Here is the link to share for registration https://registration.teamintraining.org/event-zip-search/80210/event-selected/143137 – the promo code for a limited time free registration is RMALUM.

SATURDAY ESPRESS(O) RIDES – Tahoe is in the rear view so the Saturday Espress(o) Rides are in full swing. Come join us when you can – we’re having a great time! If you have never joined us for a Saturday ride, we’ll let you pick the route and have it named after you on your first!

LAKE TAHOE 2019 – There are so many great pictures from the weekend in Lake Tahoe but just wanted a share a few here again:
